DRVR & TATA COMMUNICATIONS: MOVE FLEET MANAGEMENT

Tata Communications, based in India, has partnered with fleet management startup DRVR across the APAC region.

DRVR has adopted the Tata Communications MOVE network in a bid to “make Asian vehicle fleets the smartest and most cost-efficient in the world” – and the means to do so is through IoT and smart technologies.

DRVR’s business model relies on its employees across Asia maintaining access to high-quality roaming data networks even when crossing country borders. The firm has now utilized IoT sensors together with MOVE to ensure this mobile connectivity is constant.

The constant mobile coverage has given rise to extended applications of fleet management. Each fleet vehicle’s sensors gather usage data and transmit this information over the air. This data is then used to notify companies of how their fleets are performing and how efficient they are – as well as alerting them to suspicious activity.

User Cycle & Carriage Myanmar reported a 26% overall reduction in fuel consumption, as well as a 20% fall in fuel theft. The firm expects to enjoy an additional 20% improvement in future fuel economy by sharing best practice driver behaviors.
