EMBEDDED DEVICE SECURITY: CRYPTOGRAPHY & ENCRYPTION
Despite a general lack of high processing power and memory at the hardware level, some vendors are turning towards cryptography and encryption in silicon to protect
IoT devices.
The Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is one such venture. TPM, which describes specialised chips on endpoint devices which contain RSA encryption keys, has evolved from traditional PCs to a variety of devices in recent years. TPM 2.0, designed with IoT in mind, is being developed by vendors including Infineon and STMicroelectronics.
STMicroelectronics demonstrates its IoT chips & technology at Internet of Things World, IoT Security Summit’s sister event.
